Possessing a voice more powerful than her 4’11” frame, Kristin Chenoweth has won over audiences with her performances on Broadway, television and in film.

Born July 24, 1968, Chenoweth was adopted into a family in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Because of her background, adoption in the U.S. is a cause that is very close to her heart. Chenoweth attended Oklahoma City University where she studied musical theater and eventually got her Master’s in the subject.

On Broadway, her talents were first recognized in 1999 in her performance of Sally in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. She won a Tony Award for the role. Chenoweth became a household name in 2003 when she originated the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Broadway’s award-winning musical Wicked (costarring Idina Menzel).

Chenoweth has also been seen in multiple films and television shows. Most recently, she has played the character of April Rhodes — an alcoholic high school dropout who never saw her dreams of being a Broadway star realized — on TV’s hit show Glee. Chenoweth received her third Emmy nomination for the role.
