There's a reason why fans are calling the HSM: The Musical: The Series star this generation's Taylor Swift! Olivia Rodrigo just dropped her third single ahead of her debut album release and her uber-cool, aesthetic music video is reminding fans of a Megan Fox movie from the late 2000s.

The emerging singer-songwriter has been inspired by Taylor Swift over the years and is now having her own Blank Space moment with the music video. Olivia plays an over-the-top ex-girlfriend, sports a cheerleading uniform, and makes chilling references to Megan Fox's Jennifer's Body before setting her bedroom on fire.

Olivia Is Taking Control Of Her Music

Good 4 U was released following Olivia's break-out single Driver's License, which she performed at the Brit Awards, as well as Deja Vu. Her debut album Sour arrives May 21, and the singer is ensuring fans are pumped for it, with her new music video.

Directed by Petra Collins, the video takes inspiration from Jennifer's Body (2009) and The Princess Diaries (2001) as Olivia is seen wearing an identical cheerleader's outfit.

Towards the end of the video, Olivia is seen recreating her version of the infamous lake scene from Jennifer's Body, and fans are pretty excited about it.

The song has also reminded fans of Paramore's Misery Business, and they have praise Olivia's speak-singing style of the track.

"The aesthetics of Olivia Rodrigo's new video "good 4 u" is another level" wrote a fan, while another said "olivia rodrigo is like a combo of every pop queen i grew up idolizing....she IS the moment and if ANY of u say ONE bad thing about her i will not hesitate to take it to the streets".

In an interview with NME, the singer opened up about facing scrutiny for writing about breakups.

"It would be a bald-faced lie if I say that I didn’t face any misogyny in the music industry – especially being a young girl," said Rodrigo.

"It's a weird place to be," she added.

Rodrigo further explained she wasn't going to be influenced by criticism and change a vulnerable side of herself as a songwriter.

She said: "I'm not going to sacrifice me being vulnerable and writing songs that I feel are true to what I feel...I'm just always gonna write about what I feel the most intensely because that's the best sort of songwriting."
