Anyone who’s ever tried to sneak into close quarter with music royalty has probably come across Norman Oosterbroek, the famed bodyguard and owner of security company RAD (Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady Gaga and Drake were frequent clients). Unfortunately the six-foot-five, 280-pound man shield died this week after a bizarre tussle in Florida.
On Sept. 2, Miami-Dade police responded to a call from a home on Oosterbroek’s block in Pinecrest. Christiane Jung found him naked and arguing with her husband Markus Jung inside her home. The verbal altercation soon became a violent confrontation, during which Oosterbroek swallowed an unknown substance. When police tried to break up the fight and take the bodyguard into custody, he became aggressive. In attempts to subdue him, officers shocked him with a taser. He was taken to Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Oosterbroek was 43.
